Hops Bravo (US) Pellets

Hops Bravo (US) Pellets

Hops Bravo (US) Hop Pellets 1 oz Bravo Hops New hops are coming on to the market every year, and before they are given a name, they must prove themselves as Bravo hops did. These hops are grown in Washington state by Golden Gate Hop Ranches, Inc., although it is managed by S.S. Steiner, Inc. out in Yakima, Washington. Because they are so new, there isn’t much information available on them yet, but because of their high Alpha Acid content, they seem to be good for American-style IPA’s. They seem to give beer a very clean and smooth bitterness. They also seem to be extremely aromatic with a mix of earthy, spicy and citrus flavors. Here’s what you need to know about these hops: Bravo Hops Alpha Acid % 14 – 17 % Bravo Hops Beta Acid % 3 – 5 % Bravo Hops Oil Content 1.6 – 2.4 % Bravo Hops Cohumulone 29 – 34 % There are no clear substitutes for this unique hop as of yet, but you can always mix the two hops used to produce this hop, which are Zeus hops and an unnamed hop #98004 whose mother is from the Nugget hops variety. I guess Zeus is where Bravo hops got the pleasant aromas and Nugget gives it the spicy, earthy tones.

Hops Bullion oz 7.9%A pel

Hops Bullion 1 oz: One of the earliest bittering hops, Bullion was created in 1919 by an open pollinated cross between an unidentified English male and an wild Manitoba hop. Unlike modern bittering hops, Bullion has a strong, distinctive character which is perceptible, especially in additions later than 60 minutes. The aroma and flavor characteristics are strong, pungent and sometimes harsh or resiny, with elements of spiciness and a fruit character that has been described as black currant or raspberry. Bullion has become less popular with the wide availability of new bittering hops with better storage characteristics and a more neutral bittering character, but its unique flavor makes it worth considering for home and craft brewers. General Hop Characteristics Country of Origin: England Noble: No Uses: bittering, sometimes aroma Beer styles: English ales, especially darker ales and stouts; heavier German lagers Substitutions: Brewer's Gold, Cluster, Galena, Northern Brewer, Pacific Gem Chemical Composition Alpha Acids: 6-9 % Beta Acids: 3.2-6.0 % Cohumulone: 35-40 % Myrcene: 45-65 % Humulene: 12-30 (sources vary) % Caryophyllene: 9-11 % Farnesene: less than 1 % Total Oil: 2.0-3.0 % Storage (%AA/6 M/20 C): 40-50 Growing Characteristics Yield: high Harvest: late
