Hop aroma is mild, soft, pleasant, spicy, grassy, minty, woody, mushroomy and earthy comfort. Typical brewing styles: all english-style ales, esb, bitter, lager, & lambic.
Perhaps the most famous and revered of English hops, Fuggle has a classic English profile. It contributes all the essential characteristics of flavor, aroma and bitterness to ales, particularly as its lower alpha acid content necessitates high hopping rates to achieve desired bitterness. The aroma is earthy, and the flavor not very sweet. Fuggle combines beautifully with East Kent Goldings to improve drinkability, adding roundness and fullness to the palate. It is sometimes used as a distinctive dry hop.
