This
Livery was one of several that occupied D. P. Wigley's present
3rd St. Warehouse. The attached building behind the white
carriage was an addition to the original structure. The building
behind it was known for a time as the "Racine Tramp House." It housed
the poor hobos after they reached "the end of the line" just a few
hundred feet west. The bustling port and railyard were second to none
on the Wisconsin shoreline until a series of fires devastated the
city.
